Materials and Ironmongery

All of the materials I use are the best materials for the purpose of making beautiful fitted furniture. The hinges and drawer-runners I use are made in Austria by Blum, they offer a lifetime guarantee on their ironmongery. I use them because so far I have never had one go wrong. The wood I use, quite often five different types of wood in each piece, used because it does the best job to make long lasting fitted furniture, sourced form the best suppliers, always with an eye on sustainability. To finish my pieces, I favour RIBA's wonderful Paint and Paper library or Little Green (same company) as I find it's wonderfully durable, looks terrific
and offers a broad and beautiful palette.
How it works

I offer a free consultation in your home, where we can talk through your ideas and requirements. I will then provide costings
for your project via email and a rough build date. If you decide to go ahead I will ask for a deposit of £250 and we will pencil your build into the diary. This might have change from the provisional date as I allocate builds on a strictly first come first served basis.
So while I always send out estimates in the order I view prospective work, I allocate build dates to whomever
confirms the soonest.

About four weeks before the agreed build date, I will re-visit your home to talk through all the details and discuss any changes
you might like to incorporate, I will also ask for a 30% deposit to be paid via bank transfer.
We then send over 3D drawings of your project, so we can work together to confirm all the details.
Before arriving on site, I will put together as much of the furniture as I can in the workshop. Much of this depends on access and the design of the build. Most cabinets are painted and finished on site, I paint drawers, doors etc in the workshop. I always work tidily and keep clients informed on progress as to when I will be onsite or in the workshop. Once I start a job for a client, unless something happens beyond my control, I will not start the next job until satisfactory completion.

I will only issue my final invoice once everything is completed to your satisfaction.
